Summer Boredom Buster: Indoor Train!

This past weekend I helped a friend move an armoire home she purchased at a garage sale. At the same sale I scored over 200 (yes I counted!) books for just $5 from two elementary teachers. It's an absolute treasure trove!

I also scored to rather large cardboard boxes, which I set aside until further need of them.

Today I found this at Rookie Moms blog. An indoor railroad! I instantly found my use of those boxes!! I did a quick google search on how to make a train from a cardboard box and voi-la: in under 15 minutes, and with many questions being asked, I created this in our playroom!

As soon as I started laying the tracks the girls knew what I was doing. But I think the train engine will also act as a vegetable stand or ice cream stand in a couple of days when we're done with the train. I love re-purposing!!

All you need to re-create is a rather large cardboard box, box cutters, tape and some small chairs or stools. Instant summer boredom buster!!
